TARGET AUDIENCE

The PROJETO UERÊ is a not-for-profit organization focused on teaching children and youth with learning difficulties, traumatized by violence, living in communities in a permanent state of conflict, and in state of permanent conflict and at risk..

The majority of the children and youth who attend UERÊ live in the Baixa do Sapateiro and a small minority comes from other neighborhoods in the Complexo da Maré. The PROJETO UERÊ serves half the population of children aged between three and eighteen in the Baixa do Sapateiro (Nova Maré).

The morning and afternoon teaching sessions alternate with those of public schools.
